Unbreakable - På en metafysisk nivå, hur skulle ni säga att er Skate filosofi ser ut ?
Anti – Tror det är Tony Magnusson som myntade "tre regeln" i någon intervju ; antingen sätter man tricket, skadar sig eller brädan knäcks. Det finns inga mellanlägen! Anton – Filosofin är att köra på tills man dör Anti – Filosofin är ganska anspråkslös, ha kul nu – svettas – sätta tricken eller så blir det köttfärs och sågspån av brädan. Att hålla igen är inte min filosofi, förra året slet jag av en nerv i knät så min fot blev totalförlamad. Jag försökte köra ändå, men det är först nu jag är helt återhämtad. En skateboard är ju en strykbräda. Unbreakable – Hur ser ni på kopplingen mellan Skateboard och musik, vilken musik skejtar ni helst till? Anti – Jag åkte konståkning (!) när jag var yngre, dans o musik går som sagt hand i hand, men skateboard är friare, dvs mer Iggy Pop och moshpit. Musik jag skejtar till är först och främst 80-tals hardcore, typ Minor threat samt Reagan Youth. Jag gillar att lyssna på döda band, de kan inte göra en besviken genom att sälja sig. Svenska The Pricks är helt hysteriska och ett band som jag såg live i Fort Lauderdale ; The Panics. Gogol Bordello, Antipati och Regulations är bra också. Anton – Jag gillar att skejta till 60-tals pop (!) från vinyl dvs. det jag normalt aldrig festar och får blåmärken till, när jag vill ha det hårdaste typ Raised Fist och Bombshell Rocks. När jag skejtar gillar jag glad, svängig musik och en bärs. Anton – Skate är mer som att dansa, mer koreograferat, inte direkt som att dribbla i hockey! Unbreakable – Hur ser ni på dagens Skateboard scen och vad gör ni själva helst när ni deltar i en uppvisning? Anton – Det har blivit mindre känsla av samhörighet, kommer man till en skatepark idag vill alltid andra bräcka en och göra mer tricks. Anti – Sedan skateboarding gjordes till TV-spel har skejtandet blivit ett familjenöje, ett söndagsnöje där ungarna skjutsas runt av skejt-mammor och samhörigheten har blivit lidande. Om jag får välja favorit trick är det en FrontSide 180 Fakie Nosegrind, annars är Ollie det ultimata tricket. Anton - Mitt förstahandsval som trick är High School Kick Flip Revert, det är alltså Old School men High School. English version: Unbreakable – From a metaphysical viewpoint, what would you say is your skate philosophy? Anti – I think it was Swedish skate legend Tony Magnusson who mentioned the "tri rule" in an interview : either you make the trick, hurt yourself, or your board snaps. There's no middleway! Anton – The philosophy is to keep skating until you die Anti – It's a modest philosophy, have fun today – sweat – make it or alternatively you reduce yourself to minced meat and turn your board into sawdust. Holding back is not for me, last year I tore a nerve in my knee that completely paralysed my foot, I tried to skate anyway, but it's only now that I'm fully recovered. Skateboarding is "walking the plank" if you know what I mean. Unbreakable – In your eyes, what’s the connection between Skating and music ? What music do you prefer when skating? Anti – used to figure-skate (!) when I was younger and I was fucking mean at it. Dance and music go hand in hand but skating is more free, meaning more Iggy Pop and moshpit. Music I skate to would be 80ties hardcore, like Minor threat and Reagan Youth, I enjoy dead bands, they will not disappoint you by selling out. Swedish punk group The Pricks are hysterical as well as The Panics when I saw them in Fort Lauderdale. Gogol Bordello, Antipati and regulations are other kick-ass bands. Anton – I prefer skating to 60’s pop music i.e. the music I normally never party to and get bruises from. When partying I prefer the hardcorest stuff, Raised Fist and Bombshell Rocks etc. When skating I prefer happy, kicking music and a beer. Anton – Skating is more like dancing, it involves more choreography, it’s not exactly like playing ice-hockey. Unbreakable – What’s your view on today’s skate scene and what would be your first choice of tricks? Anton – The sense of community has decreased, if you enter a skate park today everyone always wants to challenge you. Anti – Since skating became affiliated with computer-games, skating has turned into a harmless pastime for the whole family, a Sunday day out with skate mums, and accordingly the sense of community has suffered. If I would pick my favourite trick it’s an old school Front Side 1:80 Fakey Nose Grind – I can do that anywhere anytime. Apart from that, an Ollie is the ultimate trick. Anton – My firsthand choice would be a High School Kick Flip Revert – that’s Old School but High School. |
